Diane slams the chocolates into her tote. Charlie slinks towards the elevator, leaving the observation deck, and her life, forever.
“That was hard to watch,” Judd shrugs.
“Had to tell him about you sometime. Things haven’t been good
for a while. ”
“Was he kneeling? Was he proposing? With candy?”
“My favorite. Hersey Party pack. The one with Kisses and the
miniature bars. He does know me.”
“He’s a child.”
“Yes. What now? Just threw away years of my life. For You?”
She sneers then laughs.
“Let’s watch him leave, babe. Got a quarter?” He grabs the binocular
viewer. She slings her bag onto the ledge to look for change. A gold-wrapped
kiss, the one with the engagement ring, rolls out and off the edge.
